Covid-19 Update

Opening for the 2020 Camping season on May 29th

We know you are all anxious to go camping again and we are anxious to welcome you to our RV park. Our top priority is the health and safety of our guests and staff. We are implementing the CDC guidelines for a safe environment. Here some of the things we’ll be doing to help keep La Veta Pines healthy and clean.

-Contact-free reservations and check-in available.  

-Self-contained RVs only.  Our restrooms will be closed until deemed safe to open.

-Park occupancy is limited to 50%

-No visitors permitted, only registered guest at each RV site

- Social distancing practices and face masks will be required in common areas and in the office/store.

-Limit of one guest in the office/store at a time. It’s a small space so please understand.

-Frequent cleaning of High touch surfaces in the Office/store

-Online ordering of campstore merchandise is Available with delivery to your campsite

-Cleaning of the utility hook-ups at your site prior to your arrival and after your departure

-Daily screening of Staff

Things to do

La Veta, our shops restaurants and galleries are just a short walk from the RV park.

Cuchara, a charming mountain village in the heart of the Cucharas River Valley, is just up the road.

Fishing – Choose from 6 different fishing lakes that are all a short drive away.

Hiking - Short walks and nature trails to difficult forest hikes and everything in between can be found nearby

Great Sand Dunes National park, home to the highest sand dunes in North America

Highway of Legends circles the Spanish Peaks region and you can join this scenic drive right in front of the RV park.

Uptop Historic District at the top of old La Veta pass started as a Railroad stop in 1877 and several building still remain

Francisco Fort Museum includes the fort, a saloon, blacksmith shop, school house, and mining museum. 

Combres Toltec Scenic Railroad can be boarded in Antonito, Co

Bishop Castle is a monumental structure in stone and iron built by one man over 60 years, and he is still building





La Veta Pines Policies

Deposit of first night fee required for nightly and weekly reservations.

2 night minimum stay required on Holiday and Special Event weekends (Memorial Day, Fathers Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Celtic Fest, Oktoberfest)

Cancelation Policy

  • Cancellations 3 or more days (72 hrs) prior to the beginning of your stay, deposit will be refunded.
  • Cancellations less that 3 days (72 hrs) prior to the beginning of your stay, deposit is nonrefundable.
  • No credit applied to future camping dates.

Check-in Time 2PM  /  Checkout Time 12noon

RV sites are assigned upon arrival. Specific site requests willl be considered but are not gauranteed

RV site occupancy policy

  • One passenger vehicle and one rv or tent per site.
  • Rates include 4 persons per site. Rates for additional persons over 18 yrs are $5.00 per day.
  • Maximum 2 pets per site.

Quiet Time is 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, please be considerate of others.

Loud vehicles must be parked on the street or moved to the street before starting the engine. Please avoid extended idling of all vehicles while on Park property.

Please use a sewer adaptor to connect your sewer hose to the Park’s sewer connection. Adaptors are available for sale in the office.

All Pets entering the Park must have current rabies vaccines. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet. Pets may not be left outside unattended. Please do not allow your pet to disturb other guests. Please keep pets to off of our neighbors’ lawns/landscapes. Aggressive dogs will not be tolerated.

Mats and rugs are not allowed on the grass.

No open Wood fires are allowed. Propane and charcoal fires are allowed in approved containers. Please check with the office for fire restrictions.

A dumpster is provided directly behind the office for your NORMAL RV trash only.  Please no large items. Do not use our neighbor’s dumpster.

Restrooms - Be mindful of other tenants when using the restroom. This is a common area to be shared by all tenants of the Park in a reasonable and courteous manner. When you finish using the restroom, please turn off the lights and close the door

You may see visiting wildlife in the park (we are in bear country!). Please don’t put yourself or our wild animals at risk by approaching them. Never leave food, pet food, or garbage out during the day or at night. Do not feed the deer.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the park except inside your RV or vehicle.
